Coryell Central Appraisal District Tax Parcels

The Coryell Central Appraisal District (Coryell CAD) attempts to: 1) identify all real and personal property, and 2) then value each parcel. Their primary mission is to divide the property taxes paid to entities in the county as accurately and equitably as possible. Coryell Central Appraisal District had 32,470 tax parcels in 2021 and 5 appraisers to value them and conduct tax protest hearings. That works out to 6,494 tax parcels per appraiser.

Coryell Central Appraisal District has a lean level of staffing. We estimate about 25% of appraisal district appraisers work on valuation while the balance work on measuring new property and other inspections. We further assume the appraisers have 3 months or 66 days to complete valuations. The Coryell Central Appraisal District is required to provide a value for all real property and business personal property in Coryell County annually.
